I'm a sales coach who's
been helping female entrepreneurs reach new levels of success for over 20 years. More about me
Hi!
Welcome To The Blog

Let me say the thing you’ve been grappling with: you already know what to do. Invite people. Follow up. Post. Develop your team. Ask for the sale. You’ve known it for years, which is exactly why watching yourself not do it feels so embarrassing. Meanwhile your network marketing team’s not growing like it used to, and more effort isn’t moving it
Here’s what I’ve watched play out for 20+ years as an executive for network marketing brands, and now as I coach women who’ve already tasted real success: two people get identical products, training, comp plans, and tools. One builds something that lasts. The other keeps starting, stopping, doubting, and quietly wondering what’s wrong with her.
Here’s what most people won’t tell you: it’s almost never strategy. It’s identity, and not the affirmation-in-the-mirror kind. I mean who you believe you are when no one’s watching. That’s what decides what you’ll actually repeat long enough to work, and it’s the whole engine behind my Sell Without the Spiral framework. No pep talk. Let’s fix this.
A success identity is the belief you hold about who you’re capable of being and how you operate: what you expect from yourself, what you consider normal, and what you do when someone says no. That’s it. It’s not vision board magic. It’s your genuine defaults.
And here’s the part nobody tells the experienced builder: it shows up in your behavior, not your words. If you say “I’m a confident seller,” but you ghost the follow-up because you’re scared of being pushy, your behavior just told you which identity is actually running the show. And that’s not a character flaw. It’s real data. Notice it and use it to your advantage.
Ready for the uncomfortable truth? For women who’ve already had a big season, the identity that got you to your peak can quietly become the exact thing keeping you stuck. You’re running a program built for the old market, the old team, the old momentum, the old everything in a market that changed while you weren’t looking. Good news. Your effort isn’t the problem. The operating system is, and it’s fixable.
Most people think they need evidence before they’ll let themselves feel successful. “Once I hit the next rank, I’ll feel like a leader. Once the income’s back, I’ll believe in myself again.” I need you to flip that, because waiting is the trap. Successful people decide who they are first, then ask one question: how does that decided person behave today?
We can agree that a successful builder follows up. Looks at her numbers without judgment instead of avoiding them. Raises her hand before she feels ready. Doesn’t need every conversation to end in a yes. In other words, identity directs behavior, behavior creates evidence, and evidence strengthens identity. And this isn’t woo: a peer-reviewed review in Frontiers in Psychology found that repeated behaviors get woven into your self-concept, and once that happens, the identity itself starts reinforcing the behavior right back. You are building the person through the reps. So, listen, Linda, stop waiting for the feeling. The feeling comes later, much later.
Identity → Behavior → Evidence → Self-Trust → Stronger Identity → Better Behavior → Results
This is why “just believe in yourself” is super useless advice, and I’ll say it plainly: belief is not the key. Evidence is. You cannot talk yourself into trusting yourself; you have to show yourself. If your follow-through keeps collapsing no matter how motivated you feel, the real culprit may not be your strategy at all; it’s your nervous system deciding the next action isn’t safe, and no amount of hype overrides that.
Want results? Change the question. Instead of “did I get the result,” ask: did I behave like the person who gets this result? That one swap changes everything about how you measure a day.
The prospect didn’t join, but did you make the invitation? The follow-up didn’t close, but did you stay calm and persistent instead of needy? The team missed the goal, but did you lead them well? Those are identity deposits, and they count even when the scoreboard doesn’t move. Every time you behave like the woman you’re becoming, you hand yourself proof. The result is feedback. It is not your worth, and the day you stop confusing the two is the day this gets easier.
Goals tell you where you want to go. Standards decide how you operate on the way there, and if I had to bet on one or the other making you money, I’d put it all on standards. It’s not even close.
This is why consistent people look almost suspiciously disciplined. They’re not white-knuckling the same decision every morning. Their standards already made it. Goals are a wish. Standards are who you are.
You’re going to have bad days. Prospects ghost. A team member you believed in walks. A launch flops. None of that makes you a failure; it makes you a person running a business. The only question that matters is: how fast do you get back to productive action?
A newer builder loses three days to one rejection. A seasoned one loses an hour. The goal was never to stop feeling the sting; anyone selling you to “be unbothered” is selling you a fantasy. The goal is to shrink the gap between getting knocked sideways and getting back to work. Start tracking that gap the way you track sales. It’ll tell you more about where your identity really is than your rank ever will.
So many women stall out because somewhere along the way they decided, “I’m just not a salesperson.” Fine, then drop the label, because it’s costing you money. What if the identity wasn’t salesperson but builder?
A builder creates customers. Develops leaders. Solves problems. Learns the skills. Understands the economics. Keeps going. Selling is just one tool in the kit, not a personality you have to fake or apologize for. That reframe gives you something much bigger to stand on. And if the actual moment of the ask is where you seize up, there’s a far more natural way to think about selling that has nothing to do with pressure and everything to do with leadership.
I’ll be honest with you: confidence is not built by telling yourself you’re confident. It’s built by evidence that you can trust yourself, and every time you say “I’ll follow up tomorrow” and don’t, your brain quietly files that your promises to yourself are optional. Then you wonder why confidence won’t show up. It won’t, because you taught it not to.
So make it small and make it real. One promise to yourself today. Keep it. Not because that single follow-up transforms your business, but because you’re teaching yourself the only thing that actually matters here: when I say I’ll do something, I do it. That’s the identity shift. Everything- the team, the income, the calm compounds from there.
You don’t become successful and then grow into the identity. You build the identity, the standards, and the skills that make success normal, and the results follow the person. Backward from how most people run it, which is exactly why most people stay stuck.
So the question was never “how do I get the result?” It’s this: who do I have to become so that producing this result is normal for me? And if that question makes you a little uncomfortable, good. You just found the edge of your next level. Now go stand on it.
Here’s the truth: you don’t need another motivational speech. You’ve had plenty of those, and you’re still reading this at 11pm wondering why the effort isn’t converting. What you need is practice, the right skills, real feedback, and a place to see what you’re actually doing so you can start operating differently.
That’s exactly why I built the Network Marketing Growth Academy. You can spend a week inside for free and experience how I help leaders build the identity, skills, confidence, and strategy to grow, without the hype. Don’t come in looking for one more thing to consume. Come in looking for the version of you that’s ready to operate differently.

Your next level doesn’t start when you finally feel ready. It starts the moment you begin behaving like the woman who already is.
See you in the Academy.

A success identity in network marketing is the belief you hold about who you’re capable of being and how you operate: what you expect from yourself, what you consider normal, and how you respond when someone says no. It shows up in your behavior, not your affirmations. It’s often the real reason two people with identical tools get completely different results, and it’s the core of what we work on inside the Network Marketing Growth Academy.
Usually it’s not a knowledge gap, it’s an identity gap. The version of you that succeeded in the old market is still running the old program, even though the team, the momentum, and the market have changed. Knowing what to do and being the kind of person who consistently does it are two very different things, and that second one is a skill you can build.
Stop trying to feel confident and start collecting evidence instead. Make one small promise to yourself and keep it, then another. Confidence grows from self-trust, and self-trust grows from proof that you do what you say you’ll do, not from motivation or a good affirmation. If you want structured practice at this, that’s what the Academy is for.
Goals tell you where you want to go; standards decide how you operate daily on the way there. “I don’t go weeks without inviting” will build a business that “I want to recruit 10 people” never will, because standards remove the daily negotiation with yourself. Successful builders look disciplined because their standards already made the decision.
Track your recovery time. The goal isn’t to stop feeling the sting, it’s to shrink the gap between getting knocked sideways and getting back to action. A seasoned builder loses an hour to a rejection, not three days. That gap is a skill you build, and it’s one of the truest measures of where your identity really is.
